2. What data we collect

2.1 Data you provide directly

When you sign up for early access via our waitlist form, we collect:

  • Name — first name and surname
  • Month and year of birth — used solely to verify you are aged 18 or over (we do not collect your full date of birth)
  • Country — your country of residence
  • Email address — used to contact you about early access and service updates

2.2 Data collected automatically

We use OneDollarStats for website analytics. This service is fully cookieless and does not use cookies, local storage, or fingerprinting. It collects only aggregated, anonymous page-view data (page URL, referrer, country derived from anonymised IP). No personal data is collected or stored by the analytics service. No individual visitor can be identified.

We do not use any other tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics services.

3. Why we process your data (lawful basis)

We process your personal data on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:

  • Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — when you submit the early access form, you consent to us storing your data and contacting you about the SNUK service, including marketing communications. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 7).
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — to operate and improve the website, prevent fraud and abuse, and ensure the security of our systems.

4. How we use your data

We use your personal data to:

  • Confirm your eligibility (18+ age verification)
  • Add you to the early access waitlist
  • Send you service updates, launch notifications, and marketing communications about SNUK
  • Respond to any enquiries you send us

We will never sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Who we share your data with

We share your personal data only with the following categories of service provider, all of whom act as data processors on our behalf under appropriate data processing agreements:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud infrastructure provider. Your data is stored in AWS DynamoDB in the EU West (London) region (eu-west-2). AWS acts as a data processor under their GDPR Data Processing Addendum.
  • Resend — email delivery service, used to send internal signup notification emails. Your name and email address are included in these notifications. Resend acts as a data processor.

We do not share your data with any advertising networks, data brokers, or social media platforms.

6. How long we keep your data

We retain your early access signup data for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected:

  • Active waitlist members — until the service launches and you either create a full account or request deletion.
  • If you do not create an account — we will delete your signup data within 12 months of the service launching, or sooner if you request it.
  • If you withdraw consent — we will delete your data within 30 days of your request.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Right to restrict processing — request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to withdraw consent — withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@snuk.ai. We will respond within one calendar month as required by UK GDPR.

8. Marketing communications

By submitting the early access form, you consent to receiving marketing communications from SNUK AI about our service, including launch updates, product recommendations, and related content.

You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or by emailing privacy@snuk.ai.

9. Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption in transit)
  • Data is stored in AWS DynamoDB with encryption at rest enabled by default
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only via AWS IAM role-based access controls
  • Our website is protected by AWS WAF (Web Application Firewall) with rate limiting and threat detection
  • API keys and secrets are managed via SST secrets, never stored in source code

10. International data transfers

Your personal data is stored in AWS eu-west-2 (London). Our email delivery provider (Resend) may process data in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office. We do not transfer your data to any other countries.

11. Children

Our service is intended for adults aged 18 and over only. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a person under 18, we will delete it promptly.

12. Cookies

We do not use cookies for analytics or advertising. Our analytics provider (OneDollarStats) is fully cookieless. The only cookies that may be set are strictly necessary cookies required by our hosting infrastructure (e.g. CloudFront edge caching). These do not contain personal data and do not require consent under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

13. Third-party links

Our website contains links to third-party product websites. These links may be affiliate links (see our Terms & Conditions, clause 3). We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email (to the address registered on your signup) and by posting a notice on our website. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
